My company is donating 1% of all revenues to NHS Charities Together from Jan – Jun 2021. Our staff and customers are all enthused to see this little ray of hope at such a bleak time.
I’ve also teamed up with 2 friends, both also entrepreneurs, and we’re running to all the hospitals in our local area during this lockdown. It’s a total of >1,000km of running between us, and we’ll reach over 30 hospitals.
As part of this, we’re keeping a log on our Facebook page of the runs, and sharing short articles on what we’ve learned about the hospitals themselves (https://www.facebook.com/donate/796135680941909/). What has struck me most is the personal connection I have to so many of the hospitals in my area. I realise that throughout my life, the NHS has always been there for us, and it’s so easy to take for granted. From the trivial, to the intimate, and the dramatic, each of the hospitals I’ve run to so far has a powerful memory or connection from my life.
Thank you to everyone who is tirelessly working in the NHS today, getting our country through this terrible crisis. Thank you not just for carry us now, but throughout our lives.
