Who are they?

Established in 2015, The Cambridge Mask Company (CMC) are a leading brand of consumer face-mask, incorporating a unique military technology filter that protects users from pollution, contamination, and infection. www.cambridgemask.com 


What Challenges and Opportunities did they face?

Scale started to work with CMC in early 2020, as the pandemic was driving a huge spike in demand. CMC had to: 

  • Mobilise production and logistics. A huge backlog had led to a massive number of orders all on deferred delivery. This backlog needed to be cleared and get the company back ‘in stock’. 
  • Recruit. The sudden expansion of the business required significant addition of headcount from senior management to front line.

The key for the team was a laser focus on these few key areas, detailed planning of priority projects, and allocation of accountability, as well as establishment of slick communication such as daily huddles between key teams to eliminate errors. Within 4 months:
